Success Magazine – My Daily Reading Habit

Okay, I confess… I have an addiction. I often crave a mental fix from my favorite magazine.

You see, I have two children under the age of three, which means my days can quickly take on a life of their own. My train of thought can be derailed in a flash. My mornings can evaporate before I can even grab my laptop or a cup of coffee.

Here’s my trick for getting back on track when there’s work to be done online; I read at least one page of Success Magazine each day. It’s the mental inspiration I need to jump start my brain. It’s the food for my business soul that reconnects my thoughts previously interrupted by the small (though often loud) voices of two little ones who want to play.

Each month, when a new issue arrives in the mailbox, I’m excited. I know that for the next 30 days, I’ll have a new source of mental power, new inspirations for new ideas and a way to keep a balance in my life. Who knew a magazine could wield so much power?

It’s the only magazine I read cover to cover, literally.   Every headline, every article, even every advertisement (of which there are very few).  It’s more than just motivation to me;  It’s relating to the stories, the challenges, the joyful victories of the featured authors.  It’s the inspiration and thought-provoking questions, or the business tips and advice that I appreciate.

Life can be hectic.  Becoming a little bet better today than we were yesterday isn’t easy.  Taking just a few minutes to read even one page of Success Magazine is my self-improvement program, my daily ritual, my necessary mental fix.

If you haven’t yet taken a look at Success Magazine, grab a copy at your local bookstore or get a subscription online at their website at SuccessMagazine.com .

If you’re already a fan, share your thoughts below….. we always love to hear from you!

To your success,

Robin

Haven’t checked it out but I’ve heard others sing the praises of this magazine as well. I’ll have to add it to my list…

I love that you use this to re-focus on your daily business activities and can so relate to what you say about losing track of the days with small kids. Mine are 14 and 16 now……great ages….but I remember those days like it was yesterday. Aren’t you so glad that you have the freedom to be there for them? They’ll always know that you were there for them. Good for you, and God bless!

      Kathy,
Success Magazine is just one of those things that makes you feel good when you read it. Everything from the cover to the photos to the articles is just top-class.

Yes, it’s so nice to be able to spend so much one-on-one time with the children. It shows in their development at this age. I love that the internet makes it possible to do what we do while still allowing us to be where we are, at home (or on the road) with our family. It’s really a blessing….

      Wishing you continued success,
      Robin

Robin, Wow, two kids under 3! I was in a position once where I had 3 kids under 4, so I sort of know where your coming from.

I have never read this magazine, but I’m always looking for something new and good to read so I will check it out.

In the meantime you keep your daily ritual, get your mental fix by reading, and take care of those two little gifts.

      Anthony,
Isn’t it just the best? It’s really not like any other magazine out there. Maybe it’s because every person you read about inside is someone you wouldn’t mind hanging out with…. the positive energy is awesome. Even better is how many of those people in each issue shares their past struggles and disappointments. You better understand how most successful people aren’t simply born lucky!

      To your continued success,
      Robin

Oh yeah, as an afterthought, I think you hit it when you talked about making yourself a little better every day. That’s the most important thing we can do. I don’t know if you’ve read the Slight Edge by Jeff Olsen, but it’s a great book and talks about those single decisions we make every day that add up to big things in the long run.

Love the CD’s. Talk about a shot of inspiration! As for “The Slight Edge,” it’s an awesome book. That mindset applies to so many things… from network marketing, to blogging, to getting fit, to losing weight…everything. Thanks for mentioning it here…..

      Mike,
The stories are always so interesting. It’s so easy to think that successful and famous people had a perfect life and always ‘have it together.’ It’s always interesting to learn that they have struggled and had disappointments just like anyone else. Those stories are so inspirational just because they show famous people as being so much more like all of us than we realize……

      Have an awesome day!

You will be soooooo glad you did! When you see it in your mailbox each month, you’ll know you’ve got 30 days of great inspiration ahead. My only problem is that I save them all….it’s worse than National Geographic…(laugh)….

When the kids nap, it’s a great mental refresher…. especially the CD. Love listening to that after those active mornings…….

      All the best,
