As we look forward to Thanksgiving for our US readers, we found a great story to share with all of you, and hope you will pass it on along to your readers, friends, and family. You may find that you want to plant your trouble tree today. We hope you find this story fun, thought-provoking and up-lifting, and perhaps you will get a nice chuckle. (Also, a big thank you to our many wonderful readers and friends, who send us their wonderful stories.)

I hired a plumber to help me restore an old farmhouse, and discovered he had just finished a tough first day on the job: a flat tire made him lose an hour of work, his electric drill quit and his ancient one ton truck refused to start. While I drove him home, he sat in stony silence.
Upon arriving, he invited me in to meet his family. As we walked toward the front door, he paused briefly at a small tree, touching the tips of the branches with both hands.
As he opened the door he underwent an amazing transformation. His tanned face was wreathed in smiles and he hugged his two small children and gave his wife a kiss. Afterwards he walked me back to my car. We passed the tree and my curiosity got the better of me, so I asked him about what I had seen him do earlier.
“Oh, that’s my trouble tree,” he replied. ”I know I can’t help having troubles on the job, but one thing’s for sure, those troubles don’t belong in the house with my wife and the children”. So I just hang them up on the tree every night when I come home and ask God to take care of them. Then in the morning I pick them up again.”
“Funny thing is,” he smiled, “when I come out in the morning to pick ‘em up, there aren’t nearly as many as I remember hanging up the night before.”

It sure seems like a great idea, for each of us, to plant our trouble tree… to have in place, for this Thanksgiving!

What a sweet story! I think we all need a trouble tree, I never want my kids and husband to be affected by what is going on with my work and my husband is the same way. We leave everything outside and our inside world is a much happier place because of it. Thanks for the though-provoking post today! I am going to share this with others!

I love this story, Robin and Judy. It is so easy to take your troubles out on the people you’re supposed to love the most. I park right next to an apple tree that I may turn into my trouble tree. I just hope it will continue to grow great apples like it did this summer!
Wishing you a song in your heart,

Hi Leslie…
We are positive your Apple tree will bear great fruit next summer. It will thrive on “your troubles”
How wonderful that you already have a tree, ready and in place, for you to leave your troubles on.
We wish you a song in your heart as well!
To your success, always…

What a wonderful story! Life at home would be so much better if we all practiced the plumber’s simple yet powerful solution.
Hope you’re having a great Thanksgiving weekend.

Hi Susan…
You are so right…if only we ALL practiced this simple solution of not taking our daily troubles, into the house with us. Then teach others to do the same, and can’t you just imagine how that would change things all over the world? That one little step, could make such a difference. Glad you enjoyed the story. We really liked it, and wanted to share it with all of you.
To your success, always…
