Annie Dillard once noted “How we live our days is how we live our lives.” We all have approximately 365 great days a year. Make the most of these days given to you, by beginning in the morning. Start with a good breakfast!
In all seriousness, how you begin the morning sets the tone for the day, which is the time of your life. This is important stuff! Choose the first hour of your day!
For some people, a great day begins with reading or prayer. Others begin at the gym, while others start by getting the kids dressed and off to school. Some make oatmeal, fruit and coffee. I think success requires that you start the day in the way that is right for you.
This is your life! You can’t wait for “someday” to enjoy it! You can’t wait for a big break, for a better economy, warmer weather or until you “feel like it.” As someone wisely said, “don’t wait for your ship come in, swim out to meet it!”
Decide how you want to start your day each morning. Think carefully about what gets you going, what seems “right” and special. What empowers you, gives you confidence and energy for the day. Be intentional about the morning! Negotiate your schedule, explain to the kids, do whatever it takes, but make it happen. Your life begins fresh and new each morning.
Here is a helpful hint…start your morning before going to bed the night before. Set the breakfast table, arrange your wardrobe, do what you need to do. Set the alarm clock, get a good night’s sleep, wake up with a plan and activate it immediately.
2011 is just around the corner. Why not plan now, to make it your best year ever. Arrange to have lots of extremely good days! Work hard, play often. Sing and dance, read more, hug and laugh more. Be more daring, take naps, invent something, take a trip, have brunch with your best friend. Arrange for 365 great days and we promise, the year will take care of itself! It really is that simple!

Great post! Starting your day off with a daily ritual that gets you in a positive frame of mind and gives your body the nutrients it needs to get you through the day is extremely important. The truly successful people in life start their days with a specific routine. You can even take it a step further and end your day with a daily ritual as well, like reading 10 pages of a personal development book before going to sleep and writing out your to-do list for the next day.
Darren Hardy explains that you can’t control what happens during your work day, but you can control how you start and end your days. He tributes his daily disciplines to his success.
Thanks for the great reminder!

Great advice here. I always find that if I start the day on a positive not especially with Bible study that this sets a great tone for the day.
And by the way a good breakfast never hurt anyone.

I so love what Judy said, “We can control how to start our day”. That’s one thing for sure to have a positive outlook during the start of the day. I think positive affirmation sometimes is a good thing and can really attract wonders.

We sure agree with you…we CAN control how we start our day. Isn’t it amazing how everything else seems to fall into place? We definitely attract what we focus on. Good or bad! Thanks for stopping by, and sharing your thoughts with us!
To your success, always…

I think life is best lived when you found it upon principles rather than plans. The Dalai Lama was asked what surprised him most, he said simply,
“Man.” The reason?
“Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money.
Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health.
And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present;
the result being that he does not live in the present or the future;
he lives as if he is never going to die,
and then dies having never really lived.” (end quote)
I believe that life is meant to be lived; every moment savored and enjoyed without fear being our chartsman or ancillary concerns unrelated to ourselves ruling our lives. Too often we are hobbled by facades, blanketing ourselves with fading fashions or keeping up appearances.
