Manage Your Work Space

15. August 2011

Is it really important to “manage your workspace”? I think it was Thomas Leonard, that said “space management is more important than time management.” We can’t actually “manage” time, no matter how we use it, or how much we squander it. But, we can and must, manage our space…our personal environment.

You will find this to be a key to highly effective people. They “set themselves up” for success… by surrounding themselves with the situations, tools, ideas, even the people, posters, music, furniture and toys that “drive” them in the direction of their most important goals. You will also find that it is not “chance” or “luck” that every single day… their environment “happens” to place them in precisely the direction they intend to go…

Focus On Your Money

7. June 2011

What does the thought: “Focus on Your Money” bring to mind for you? Let’s take a look at what money, or lack of it, and how it really effects our true independence. If we are really truthful, most of us are in debt. While we would love to be out of debt, are we willing to do what it takes? Or, are we overwhelmed with that prospect? Maybe we are even ashamed to be in debt. Yet, the thought of deprivation, hard work, and years of struggle, are not THAT appealing!

Maybe the lack of money is not the main problem. Maybe we just need to focus on the process. Maybe, it is not that hard to fix the lack of money problem. Maybe we don’t have to suffer…

The next time you start a conversation with a harried business person, (one of those plenty-of-money, but no-time-to-live type), hand them these commandments for balancing themselves back to a real life! I actually, at one time, had these commandments printed on a business card to hand out.

It did raise some eyebrows! You can have some fun with this idea, however, a warning here…

Most of us are finding money to be an interesting hobby. REALLY? Hmm…now that is an interesting thought! But, there is money in the world, even though it can be hard for some of us, to find.

There is more money floating around, changing hands and making more people wealthy than ever before. And yet, it seems that most of us work very hard to get rid of it as fast as we can. Let’s look at this a little closer:

Attitude Of Gratitude

8. April 2011

It sure sounds good, doesn’t it? But, in truth, there are times when I don’t feel so grateful. Today, as I write this, it is 49 degrees, raining that solid grey rain, known only to Seattle”ites”, and it is almost summer! “Thank you” just seems hard to find in my vocabulary today.

Sometimes it feels nice, to spend some time wallowing with my “bad self. Or….maybe NOT. Let’s see….”A feeling of thankful appreciation”, or wasted “poor me” day. Ask yourself right now, “How does this choice make me feel?”

Create Your Victory Log

9. March 2011

Have you ever thought about creating a victory log? In our lives, we all have times where we feel REALLY good about ourselves… like when we did something good, or at times, really GREAT! Sometimes those feelings happen when someone gives you an approving nod, a promotion, a referral for a a new client, sent you flowers, or said thank you. Maybe you had a date with someone you thought was really “hot”! Of course, the big events in our lives immediately come to mind: Your wedding day, giving birth, winning a medal, scoring a winning touchdown. But the smaller events that happen throughout your life, that make you feel really good, can be simply because you made a difference, by helping someone out that needed it….

While researching information about the 10 characteristics of human behavior, I found some interesting insights from marketing guru Jay Abraham: Take a look and think about the effect it would have on your business. The more you study the communication process, the more you realize that successful communications… be they ads, sales letters, brochures or proposals… tap into key characteristics of human behavior. The more you are aware of these obvious, “commonsense”, basic attributes, the more powerful and effective your communication will be.

You can change your life by changing your “self” words, and habits. Here are some guidepost rules regarding change:

Get Motivated…Take Action!

27. January 2011

There are just days that no matter what, we just don’t feel motivated. Ever have one of those? Life can get in the way, and steal our dreams and goals. Here are some things to help us get motivated…take action, and get back on track.

Let’s start with the good news first. Creating motivation is not difficult. We have talked before, about the fact that little changes over time, will work. EVERYONE can take little small steps. You don’t need to leap tall buildings in a single bound. Besides, Superman is the only we know of that can do that anyway!

Mind Clutter

Clean out the Mind Clutter!  We have all heard it, some more than others, but if you are in the network marketing business, you have heard it.

“This business is so hard.  People are just too busy to want to hold parties.”

“I love my products, but I feel like they’re too expensive.”

“I can sign up a lot of people, but then no one wants to do anything.”

Sound familiar?  Maybe too familiar because you were shouting, “That’s what I think!”  So, what do all of these things have in common?

Make Every Monday Better

6. January 2011

How can you make every Monday better?  In my search for a blog idea for today, I thought about a few easy things that each of us can do, to change our lives for the better.   Each of us can make a difference, in so many ways, but here are a few ideas:

MENTOR A CHILD:  15 Million children need mentoring.  1 out of every 3 students in public high schools, will not graduate.

ADOPT A PET:  8 Million dogs and cats are placed in animal shelters every year.  Over 4 million are euthanized.  Only 15% of owned pets, were adopted from an animal shelter…

This is the time when almost everyone celebrates the New Year, and new beginnings — at least for business purposes. This is a time for reflection and joy.

Did you ever wonder that the in the Northern Hemisphere it is also our Winter Solstice, which brings longer days, more light and the rebirth of spring? We are really looking forward to warmer days, and more light!

With the start of a New Year, it is the perfect time to review the past and preview the future. After all, even the sun is coming back! (My apologies to our subscribers in the Southern Hemisphere…your time will come in June).

Our Lady’s Juggler

16. December 2010

Many years ago, I used to write Christmas poems, and decided that it would be fun to start that custom again.  Hope you enjoy Our Lady’s Juggler, as much as I did, creating it.

Merry Christmas…Judy
“OUR LADY’S JUGGLER”
From out of a French legend
Arrived a poor juggler, called John.
His role was to amuse the crowd
With his jokes, patter, and song.

Though he was kindhearted
And very devout…
He was often the butt
Of cruel jokes, and what-not.

Time For Reflection

9. December 2010

This is my favorite time of the year.  It is the time for   reflection on what is happening in your life.   While   running errands, I was sitting in traffic, so I turned  on the radio and heard John Lennon’s, “Happy Xmas (War is Over)”.

Unfortunately war and terrorism are not over, yet.  To  people all over the world who are caught up in violence,  often far from home, lonely, hungry and scared, our  fervent wishes that the New Year bring peace.  In this season, may you know the ordinary joy of…

Want To Feel Good Fast?

We recently came across an article by J Brad Britton, about gratitude, and the top ten reasons to adopt the “Laws of Gratitude” in your life:   We enjoyed it so much, that we wanted to share it with all of you, with the  hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

1. Being in Gratitude Only Has Positive Side Effects :
Positive emotions make you feel good and offer a sense of comfort.  When we take a few moments to express our appreciation inwardly or to another, immediately we begin to feel happier, more relaxed, more optimistic…
