A Vision Problem

Motivational, Personal Development

John Milton Fogg, is one of the authors that has totally changed my vision problem. I recently saw one his articles, that was published years and years ago, but it applies today, as it did then.   Here is some of that article, for you to contemplate.

Remember when I told you that once you’re committed to your success you’ll immediately have a doubtful thought such as, “This is silly.  I’m not successful.  I don’t deserve it.  I never will be a success.  I’m not good enough …… Whatever”.  Always happens, right?  Well, you’ve got what I call…

A VISION PROBLEM and solving a vision problem is simple:  Make a new and better (i.e. more empowering) Vision.  You see, everybody has a vision, and I’m using the word vision here to mean an image, or picture of who and how you are, and what life (and work) are like for you.

Most people  carry around a negative vision.  That’s par for the course.  We’ve been fed a constant diet of negativity since we were born.  “Don’t touch that!  Don’t play with matches.  Don’t talk to strangers!”  (And isn’t that a great message for a Network Marketer…)  “No. No. No. No. No!”

Here’s a sad fact: Pre-school kids hear “No” and other negatives approximately 250 times for every 15 or so encouraging “Yes” remarks EVERY DAY!  That’s a ratio of 17- to -1 on the negative side!  Compound that with all of the times we’ve re-lived a bad experience or replayed criticisms and cruel, unkind remarks people have said about us and you can imagine how very heavily weighed-down the balance scales in our minds are on that negative side.

I am simply offering you some simple and effective ways to adjust your out-of-balance mind to think (and therefore  BE) more confident and creative.  Make sense?  If you want to know what your Vision has been up ’til now, look at your life.  (I know you don’t like this part.  Nobody does.)  Human beings get what they expect, and vision is the tool that does the job of creating our expectations.  So if you have a bunch of stuff in your life you don’t want —-failure, settling for less, being unhappy, unhealthy —-change your vision.

To your success…
Judy and Robin

When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change. I totally agree with you. Vision is the most important thing to have.

      Hi Debbie…
Isn’t it wonderful to find that we CAN change our vision, at any time! Sometimes it is hard to remember that, but when we do, it can have amazing results.

You guys are right on target with this. If you can’t visualize yourself being successful then it will never happen. The good thing is you can always work to change that starting right NOW.

    Thanks for sharing,

Yes, is it wonderful, that we can always change our vision. We agree with you, that if one cannot visualize success, they will have a hard time accomplishing it. But, like you said..we CAN change that at any point in time! Life is good!

It is so true that we are told all those negative things growing up. I have 2 teenagers, I try not to say they can’t do something. I want them to feel like they can achieve anything they desire, as long as they take action.

What a wonderful thing you are doing for your sons! You are setting them up for success, and a happy life, knowing they can do whatever they set out to do. Good for you!!!! And the great thing, is that with that understanding, they WILL accomplish great things!

My first opportunity to refocus if you will was years ago when someone asked me how much money I wanted to make. I was in my 20′s at the time and picked what I thought was an outrageous number. 50K. He said well that is not very much money, but I guess people get paid what they think they are worth. I was floored. Wow, I thought, people make more than 50,000 in a year! I found out that there are people how make that in a month and they think they are worth it.

Yes, it is all about what we think, and what we perceive as our “worth”. Good for you, in refocusing years ago. Focus high my friend. No sense not reaching for everything!

You’re so right about the negativity directed towards us when we are growing up. I’m always thinking back to negative occasions but have started to try EFT to start focusing on the positive things in life and get that right vision that you’re talking about.

I’m very aware of when I’m saying no to my little boy, I try to make sure there are more yes’s than no’s!

Good for you, in raising your little boy, with positive influences. He will grow to be everything he can be, and more! EFT is wonderful isn’t it? How long have you been doing it?

Two of my favorite quotes are “Never Let Anyone Tell You It Can’t Be Done” “Try not. Do or do not. There is no try” (Yoda) I have to keep my own vision in check everyday – this week it was a bit blurry…but I’m back on tracking seeing a clearer vision of were I want to go with my life. Thanks for this great post.

Love your quote, “Never let anyone tell you it can’t be done”. We always felt if it can be imagined, it can be done! Congratulations on recognizing that your “vision” was a bit cloudy. Fortunately, we can, at any time…change it, like you did!

    Hey guys,

When you can see your vision and keep working towards it it may take a while to transpire but always seeing what you believe instead of believing what you see is definitely the trick.

What a grand thought you have. “Always seeing what you believe, instead of believing what you see!” Now, that is GOOD advice. Thanks for your thoughts!

As you mentioned, it is so easy to get into a negative thought pattern in our ordinary lives. The “17 to 1″ no to yes ratio that pre-school kids face is also experienced when you grow up.

We may be stifled in 16 areas of our life but because we have one positive thing i.e.job, house, car we get complacent. We say things like, “At least I have this or at least I have that” and I think it is great to be grateful. I personally am so grateful for all that God has blessed me with but if we are going to change the world. We have to think BIG!

Thant means fixing our vision and moving our vision outside of ourselves. Thanks for sharing.

    Always balancing,

What a grand way to look at life. Grateful for all that we already have, will open our hands and our hearts to receive more. Yes, you are so right…we need to think BIG! The more we are grateful, the more we receive more. One will never get much, with a closed hand, holding on tight to what they have. Open it up, share with others, and more will be attracted to you. Thanks again Rafael for your insights. We so enjoy them!

Woah! I’m really digging the template/theme of this site. It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s challenging to get that “perfect balance” between user friendliness and appearance. I must say you have done a great job with this. Also, the blog loads extremely fast for me on Firefox. Excellent Blog!
