If there is something every website needs, it’s traffic. Hords of traffic. Without visitors, our blogs and websites are just vacant real estate on the internet.
We recently ran across one of those “couldn’t have said it better myself” blog posts that detailed some really terrific tips for boosting traffic to a blog or website. We thought it was so good, we wanted to share it here……”100 Ways to Increase Your Website Traffic” lists out ways to get more visitors to your website.
Author Daniel Scocco posted this gem on his website “How to Make a Website.net.”
Daniel knows his subject well. His blog “Daily Blog Tips” has been rated by Technorati as one of the 500 most popular blogs in the world. You don’t earn that position unless you know how to generate traffic to your site.
Many of the tips you should already be doing. Some of the tips might be a little “out of the box.” A few even made us chuckle. One or two might even feel a tad risky. Regardless, you need to check out the list and see if you can’t pick up one or two (or hopefully more) ideas to put into practice this week.
Then, let us know which ones you found most helpful, most interesting, or most surprising, by leaving a comment below…. (we’re thinking we might avoid #94 , and found #50 to be a helpful resource link).
Looking forward to your thoughts!
Robin and Judy

Hi Robin,
Terrific resources! On the 100 tips, the ones that I think are really good ideas (and there were many) the Mobile tips were the ones that I feel most drawn to. I’m using a large percentage of the tips, but I have yet to act on mobile, which is huge already.
Staying ahead of the curve is important to me. That’s why I need to jump on the mobile trend, it’s not going away!
Appreciate the reminder about “Daily Blog Tips”. That’s a good one that I seem to have forgotten. I will resubscribe, for sure. Thanks!

Deb,
We’d have to agree with you about the mobile marketing… It isn’t going away. In fact, this weekend, we heard a top marketing advisor comment that the move to mobile web search will change internet searching as we currently know it. Staying ahead of the curve will definitely impact our business in the future…..
Hope your week is a terrific one!

Robin,
So many choices, so little time
There are quite a few that we do like. And we figured it would be quite cool to have “TheCoolestCouple” stickers strategically placed in some unique locations. Although we’d avoid personal places like other people’s cars, windows, etc.
Thanks so much for passing this on…

Pat and Lorna, Unless, of course it was your car!
You’ve got that right! So little time, so much to be done! I think Coolest Couple stickers are a great idea…… but agree, that car windows might not be the right choice..
Wishing you both a great day!

Hey guys, this is excellent. I like the idea of “risky” but (haha) I think putting stickers on car windows is a bit “too risky” hehehe, that definitely made me laugh/chuckle. I also bookmarked to look over a lot more later. Thanks a bunch for sharing. I’m sure #50 alone will do wonders for my targeting.
Blessings,
Curt

Do you know why my image is all of sudden not showing up on blogs such as yours (when I comment) … I’m using a new email address, but I’m certain I set it up with an image in Gravatar. Does your blog images work off of Gravatar? How does that work?
Thanks,
Curt

Curt,
Check your Gravatar account to be sure the email address you used here is entered correctly in your Gravatar account. Even a typo can keep it from working… If you can find the problem at Gravatar, your photo should re-appear..
Sincerely,
Robin and Judy

Curt,
Have to agree with you on the car window thing… LOL…. It’s a nice list of ways to grow traffic, but we think we would skip a few of the items on the list…but to each their own! LOL

Hi Robin and Judy,
I have heard of but never participated in a Blog Carnival (#5) so I am curious about that one for sure. And I didn’t even know there was a SponsoredReviews site #89 so that’s a good resource if I ever decided to go that route – definitely nicer to have a marketplace to browse as opposed to having to broach the topic cold. It’s a great list with a lot of tried and true methods on it with some great strategies that anybody can start implementing now to increase traffic. There’s some good reminders on there and I was definitely jotting things down on my to-do list. Thanks! – Rob
